Naked And Afraid! Have You Seen This Sh*t Yet? (Video)
“Kind of a risible kick, if only for how seriously the show takes itself.” ~ Brian Lowery (Critic)
Ok, so..bet you thought you might have witnessed just about EVERYTHING and ANYTHING that reality television could throw your way.
Were you just about to finally give up?
Surely, there could be nothing they will come up with to surpass the level of saturation and antics they have already brought forth, and given birth to on mainstream televison?! Well, THINK AGAIN. Because, apparently:
Surviving + Man and Woman + Damp and Diseased + Nudity + Reality TV = ‘Naked and Afraid: The Discovery Channel Series’!
WTF?! Can It Really Be?
According to The Discovery Channel‘s own description:
Naked and Afraid takes “survival of the fittest” to the next level. Each week, a new pair of complete and total strangers – one man and one woman – will find themselves stranded in and, quite literally, exposed to some of the world’s most extreme weather environments. Each duo will be left high and dry with no food, no water…and no clothes. They must survive on their own for a full 21 days, with nothing but one personal item each and the knowledge that the only prize is their pride and sense of accomplishment.
In Naked and Afraid, these brazen and bold couples will get acquainted with each other and their new surroundings very quickly, forcing them to question and test everything they may think they know about their acquired survival skills and instincts.
Will the nude castaways have the brains and brawn to endure the harsh conditions? Or will the challenges prove to be overbare-ing? Watch as each couple battles the elements, each other, and their own inner weaknesses to see who will triumph over the terrain or fail under the force of nature.
“Now shares the record for the highest-rated survival telecast in the Network’s history since June 2009.” ~ TDC
More Fun Than You Can Shake..A Stick At!
Take a peek at this interesting show, if it’s the kind of television that is up..your alley! It’s um, harder (read: tougher) to look away than you would expect, but maybe not for the reason you expect.
Like Brian Lowery stated, even just for how seriously the show takes itself, ‘Naked and Afraid’ seems here to stay for now.
I suppose that until we get bored and tired, of gawking at naked people being bored and tired – or fighting snakes and bug bites whilst trying not to (get caught as they) stare at each other (counting freckles, bug bites and abrasions no doubt) – then this show and shows like it are bound to arrive and ‘up the ante’ even further!
(Is ‘Naked Big Brother‘ next?! Or, I know..’Naked American Idol“!!)
Please don’t say, ‘Naked Real Housewives of Hell‘. Oh, well. Happy viewing, you cheeky bum lookers!
